Yarn store review

I went to a new yarn store today.
HHMmmm... I wasn't overly impressed. Not much of a selection and most of the yarn I could go to Micheal's or Hobby Lobby to buy. I did buy one skein because she happened to have the brand I was hoping she'd have. When I go into a yarn store I want to touch and feel the fibers that I am reading about in magazines and pattern books and reviewed in the blogs I read. Aside from 2 brands I recognized and the others that could be bought in chain stores, were brands i hadn't heard of but she did have anything knitted up in them. If you don't make something how am i going to know how it behaves?
The owner was in and very nice, she has an entralac wip and she did show me a little bit but i want to take a class so hopefully she'll send me a newsletter.
I'll just have to watch my inbox.

So I'm Back

So I've been gone awhile, but I keep thinking of all these witty funny things I want to share.
What happens when i sit down, nadda zippo nuttin' to say!
I can't blog at work so maybe i should take notes, that way when i sit down i'll remember what i thought was so interesting at the time and wanted to share.
so for now I'm just gonna say hi and go to bed,
I'll be back soon!

another day

I watched a Martha Stewart episode around Christmas time. I was in shock and awe that she actually thought what she was preparing for a party is was realistic. Maybe her writers thought it, but seriously I couldn't make myself change the channel. I think it was because I fell in love with the huge cassollet she was using for the main dish for the party. I digress, the dish she was making had 2 turkeys and 2 geese and i think a lamb leg. But I just think that for a party for us people who don't have someone fixing our partys up for us, it was totaly unrealistic.
She had friends "helping" her make eggnog, which when it was done looked fantastic. I for one would have used my kitchenaid to whip all those egg whites. Have you ever whipped egg whites by hand? It takes forever, but here these guy were whipping away. Then came the BOOOZZEE!!
I don't know how much exactly went in this eggnog batch all i can remember is at least a fifth of jack daniels was dumped in.
I do admire some of the things that Martha does but for us people who don't have a full crew to finish up the project, i think its unrealistic.
Not that I think that you shouldn't try - go for it, just be sure to have a full  crew to help during the commercials!

the perfect pattern

I knit and crochet, have a yarn stash that is overflowing, and patterns coming out the wahzooo!
you would think with all those patterns i could find one that i want to make.
No such luck.
I love the hunt for that perfect pattern, through the blogs, ravelry and all the magazines.
Do I want to make a blanket, sweater mittens a scarf? Oh the possibilities!
there's is something so relaxing for me while i look and sort through. Even though knitting and crocheting is my stress relief, i think it's really the hunt for the perfect pattern.
Oh the thrill of the hunt.

Daydreaming

I daydream what i want to say on my post while I'm at work. I get home and all the funny insightful anecdotes are poof -  gone,  not to be found!
I read several blogs and all these people are talented and funny and i so want to be a source of entertainment for someone too, but how?
I think as i become more comfortable writing about whats roaming around in my mind while i am working away I should be able to remember what I thought was so funny to share or the blog that I was reading that inspired me to jot something down.
